Some Lebanese companies and organizations have already passed the green light. Here are some examples:




  • Azadea Foundation is still maintaining the René Mouawad, Sanayeh Garden according to international standards, in addition to running some tactical green initiatives: The Sanayeh Garden is maintained by preserving its greenery, the children’s playgrounds, the bicycle and running tracks, and all its other areas
 

 
  • Awareness: The Arab Forum for Environment and Development (AFED) launched its annual report, ‘Financing Sustainable Development in Arab Countries’, on November 8. AFED’s most recent report notes the Arab region’s immense funding gap towards achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, and highlights the detrimental effects of long-lasting war and conflict on sustainable development and the region’s economy

  • “Fondation Diane” provides financial and operational support to SMEs, as well as young environmental projects in order to prove that eco-sustainability and profitability are not incompatible
  • “The Chair of Education in Civic Awareness and Eco-Sustainable Development” – CECDED: Created in partnership with Université Saint Joseph to develop a sense of ecological civic awareness in schools, high schools, universities and different social groups, through communication and awareness campaign
  • "Citizen Café”: Monthly debates around environmental topics to open citizens’ eyes on the magnitude of their power, urging them to take action
