  • Certifications: Compliance with strict international standards concerning quality management and environmental protection has earned the Natuzzi Group two important certificates: ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and E-1 certification, as proof of our commitment to operating with low environmental impact. It is this continuous research for superior quality that lets us offer a 10-year warranty on the structure of our products and 2 years on padding, mechanisms and upholstery.
Our company is never satisfied, however, and has thus created its very own Quality Laboratory, responsible for testing every sofa component to ensure that each one complies with the strictest international standards as well as guaranteeing maximum comfort and resistance to wear: the materials are subjected to repeated tests in order to measure their performance and resistance over time in every situation and weather condition.
The special polyurethane foam padding is patented and developed at our facilities in Italy
  • Sustainability: From 2011, the International Year of Forests, declared by the United Nations, the Company is committed to improve its already advanced principles and criteria of good governance, for the protection and enhancement of trees and forests. According to the Company Philosophy, the wood is considered an excellent material, in terms of quality and environmental condition, but only if it is legally produced and comes from forests managed in a responsible manner. For this reason, Natuzzi Group does not accept wood illegally extracted from unchecked and endangered forests.
Natuzzi Group points to the sustainability by using: materials derived from wood, which contain minimal or zero amounts of formaldehyde, in line with the strictest international legislation; polyurethane foam for upholstery made in total absence of freon
  • Social responsibility: Throughout its history, the Natuzzi Group has never lacked energy, both to face the challenges of growth and to cope with crises. It is clean energy because it comes from passion and responsibility; and it is renewable, because it comes from an inexhaustible enthusiasm.
21,000 photovoltaic panels have been installed on rooftops of Natuzzi plants and trading offices in Puglia and Basilicata (Italy). Once again, it is clean and renewable energy.
The photovoltaic systems will assure an annual reduction of approximately 3400 tonnes in CO2 emissions, equal to the annual emission of about 1200 cars. At the present moment, five photovoltaic systems have already been installed on plants in Santeramo in Colle, Matera and Laterza.
The adoption of renewable energy demonstrates the purpose of the company to control the environmental impacts of its production activities and seek improvement in a coherent, effective and, above all, sustainable way. The Natuzzi Group ensures the absence of hazardous and even toxic chemical products in the process of production and packaging.
Pasquale Natuzzi commented: “Our commitment for sustainable development is not only a responsibility, but also an opportunity. It expresses a forward-looking investment which is fundamental for every company's continuity. Renewable energies are also an opportunity to compete keeping the operating costs low. Combining the sustainable development with the competition is a challenge that our company wants to carry on in order to improve the quality of life in the territory”

  • No solid wastes are generated from our industrial and production processes, as all the reject and scrap material are recycled and processed into new products for non-water application, such as: tagging labels, storage protection caps for pipes, wall fixations, hangers, bags, etc. API ensures that recoverable plastic waste is never reprocessed into the pipe & fitting production, as this could undermine the quality outcome of our products
  • No liquid wastes are generated from our operations; Hydraulic and diesel oils used in injection processes are treated and reclaimed. An online oil filtering system, allows us to use the same oil almost 4 times its expected lifetime. In simpler means, we’ve decreased our oil waste by 66%. After final consumption, the oils are transferred to a recycling institution, and reconditioned for alternative applications
  • In both, the Zouk factory and the Dbayeh offices, garbage is collected and sorted into categorized recycling bins and sent for proper treatment. This is an employee-led initiative and is in collaboration with local municipalities and concerned NGO’s
  • Water, as a resource, is used economically; we use a closed loop filtered water-cooling system, to help minimize wastewater that is generated during production processes
  • Sewage system is connected to a localized water-waste treatment plant
  • API is proud to be the first factory and industry in the Middle East, and the fifth worldwide, to install a Photovoltaic Hybrid System at its premises:  The roof of the factory is covered by 1250 m2 farm of PV solar panels producing 192 kW The PV output is synchronized with the power generated from local Diesel generators, resulting in a diesel saving of 70 tons/year and an annual solar energy yield of 240MWh. This set-up reduces the fuel consumption of the generator. API is now a greener industry by saving 170 T of CO2, 4.6 T of NOX and 306 kg of SOX annually
