Some Lebanese companies and organizations have already passed the green light. Here are some examples:

  • LED LIGHTS: In November 2015, after a study made by SOLARWOLRD, all the lights in our HQ, in Nahr el Mot, have been replaced by LED bulbs. Referring to the study made by SOLARWORLD then, we have reached 180 AMP of electricity savings after LED replacement which is estimated at 554,400 Kwh annually
  • PAPER:
  • All the used papers are being collected for L’ECOUTE Association which by recycling it auto finances its projects to serve people with disabilities
  • Reusing paper for double sided printing and drafts same goes for the envelopes reused for internal mailing
  • All the required documents are being scanned instead of being photocopied and sent in multiple hard copies. 400+ sheets are saved monthly
  • CARDBOARD: Most of the used cardboard is being sold to Gemayel Freres for recycling. 5+ tons were saved in 4 months
  • PRINTER TONERS: All the empty printer toners are being returned to BUROCRATE SARL for refilling.  More than 100 toners were saved in 1 year
  • PLASTIC RECIPIENTS: All detergent plastic recipients are being returned to our supplier “Spartan” for refilling
  • E-WASTE: The e-waste is being collected and sent to BEATOUNA or L’Ecoute for recycling
  • ADVERTISING BANNERS: All the advertising banners (billboards), when removed, are being picked up by waste® which handcrafts them into bags and accessories
  • METAL: All the metal parts are collected in the workshops and sold for recycling
  • NITROGEN TIRE FILLING For Motorcycles: Using nitrogen for motorcycles tires helps maintain a healthy tire pressure which will assist the vehicle in rolling with less resistance, resulting in better fuel efficiency
  • COOLING GAS: To save cooling gas, when an AC compressor or a radiator is changed, a specialized machine is used for storing this gas and refiling it in the newly installed part

  • RYMCO enforces a recycling system internally in support of T.E.R.R.E. Liban in “Papivore Malin” the paper recycling project. Below are the quantities of wastepaper collected and recycled over 6 years: 1790 kg in 2010, 19810 kg in 2011, 3820 kg in 2012, 2585 kg in 2013, 5274 kg in 2014, and 5062 kg in 2015
  • Took part in a reforestation campaign with Green Mind
  • Sponsored the Green Mind Awards to encourage environmental awareness
  • Shifted to using LED lights to reduce energy consumption
  • In 2010, Rymco was a main supporter and funder for a new environmental study that aims to monitor the air pollution caused by traffic conducted by the Atmospheric and Analytical Laboratory (AAL) at the American University of Beirut (AUB)
  • Rymco is always open to green initiatives sponsorships and other CSR activities
  • Internal Recycling Program in collaboration with Arc en Ciel: Leaving a reduced environmental footprint has been one of our main concerns. To meet this goal, we have implemented recycling initiatives in all our facilities. 
    Since 2013, all our offices have been sorting materials such as cardboard, paper, plastic, scrap metal, and glass bottles, to be collected and recycled by Arc En Ciel
  • Supporting the “Association Pour la Protection de Jabal Moussa”: Aiming to preserve the cultural heritage in Jabal Moussa Mountain and surrounding villages, we maintain our long-standing partnership with the “Association Pour La Protection de ‘Jabal Moussa’ ” and are keen on supporting their mission in order to achieve sustainable development
  • Low Consumption lighting and water saving: As we become more aware of our impact on our environment, we are using LED lights in our automotive showrooms to reduce energy consumption at our premises, therefore reducing environmental harm. In addition, we have been continuously promoting and encouraging our employees to be cautious in energy and water usage in all our facilities

  • BUMC s.a.l. Headquarters, Toyota-Lexus City is equipped with green technology and features, as well as greenery within its landscape
  • All BUMC facilities feature large windows and skylights to promote natural sunlight & air circulation and reduce consumption of electricity during daytime
  • All BUMC facilities are equipped with green friendly, low consumption bulbs for lighting
  • Toyota & Lexus Vehicle Lineup:
  • In 2016, we launched the long awaited, 4th Generation Toyota Prius. The Prius remains Toyota’s technological ambassador, a showcase for new, relevant technologies that raise levels of safety, convenience, driving experience and comfort. It is a symbol of how BUMC aims to change drivers’ perception of eco-friendly vehicles, through the Prius, which offers style, ease of use and real driving pleasure
  • The C02 emissions of all vehicles within the lineup of both Toyota and Lexus are ensured to be according to standards
  • Proper Disposal & Treatment of Oils, Lubricants and such Chemicals: Safe disposal of lubricants, oil waste, used parts, scrap metal and plastics to agencies that ensure safe treatment, re-use or proper disposal
  • Recycling Programs & Material/Energy Reduction Initiatives:
  • All BUMC staff sort and recycle materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic and glass
  • All ink cartridges are refilled, instead of replaced
  • Electronics and used office equipment are donated
  • Staff are encouraged to shut down electronics, turn off lighting, fans and or AC units, and unplug electronics that consume energy and reduce power consumption when not in use or during closing
  • Print quotas to encourage employees to access soft copies of documents and reduce paper printing
