One megawatt solar farm in Choukin Contract valued at $1.35 million The General Directorate of Hydraulic and Electric Resources has awarded a $1.35 million contract to install a one megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic farm in Choukin, Nabatieh. The contract was awarded to a consortium of four companies: Asaco, Farhat Group, Power and Automation Control (PAC), and Izzat Marji. According to the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation, installation work is expected to begin in two months time. It is expected to take between 16 and 18 months to complete. The contract is part of a national plan to install solar farms, with an entire energy value of around 30 MW, for the public sector between 2016 and 2020. The Choukin farm is the third project following the one megawatt Beirut River Solar Snake project and the one megawatt Zahrani Oil Installations project.
